Rev. Dr. Matthew Everhard ’99 is the Senior Pastor of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brooksville, Florida, and general editor of EdwardsStudies.com. He is a 2006 graduate of Ashland Theological Seminary (M.A., Practical Theology), and holds a Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando.
Everhard has published four entries, “Happiness/Joy,” “Predestination,” “Original Sin,” and “Hell” in the forthcoming Jonathan Edwards Encyclopedia, edited by Harry S. Stout (Grand Rapids, MI: Eedmans, 2017). This volume is designed to be the definitive source of reference material related to the American Puritan pastor, theologian, and philosopher, Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758).
He also has edited and contributed to the new academic, peer-reviewed journal, entitled The Westminster Society Journal, Volume One, “Means of Grace.” Published by the Westminster Society. This newly launched journal features the writings of ministers in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).
Trisha Burky ’01 has written a devotional entitled 40 Days. From a book review, “Holding nothing back, Trisha shares some of the darkest moments of her journey, moments of undeserved grace, and moments of heart-changing reflection in 40 Days. Jake Bohrer ’17 is a Medical Social Worker at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Bohrer was an assistant residence director for 2016-2017, vice president of the Social Work Club, a member of Phi Alpha, the National Honor Society of Social Work, and a Dean’s List recipient.
Carrie Stroup ’99 is the new Director of the Malone’s BSN program. An alumna of the program, Carrie earned her MSN-Nursing Education from Liberty University in 2013 and is working toward completion of her doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) with Carlow University. She has been on staff since 2002, initially as a tutor for nursing students in the Center for Study & Testing, then as an adjunct instructor for several years, transitioning to full-time faculty in 2013. Her clinical practice is grounded in acute-care oncology nursing. Carrie and her husband Joel have three daughters.
Haley Kool ’17 is a staff accountant at Skinner Fouch & Olson LLP in Irvine, California. Kool graduated with a B.A. in business administration with double majors in accounting and finance. Originally from San Clemente, she was a standout on the Pioneer volleyball team and is ranked 5th all-time at Malone with 239 block assists and 9th all-time with 278 career total blocks. She was voted Homecoming Queen by her peers in 2016.

Liz Debellis Hughes ’07 is an artist, teacher and entrepreneur. Liz and her husband, Jared, own Groovy Plants Ranch, a greenhouse business with vegetables, herbs, perennials, succulents annuals and many rare plants. Liz, an art education graduate, also teaches painting and ceramics classes in a one-room schoolhouse on the property. During the school year, Liz is a teacher at Millennium School in Columbus.
Samuel Taylor ’13 is a Research Associate at the Portland VA Research Foundation of the Portland VA Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. Taylor graduated from Malone with a bachelor of arts in Psychology and earned a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a member of Phi Alpha Honor Society (Phi Gamma), and an Aaron Rosen Scholar.
Alicia Nierste ’16 is an Ohio Reading Corps tutor with AmeriCorps. She aids and assists teachers as they help students meet grade-level equivalence per Ohio education standards for grades kindergarten through 3rd. Nierste is also a freelance graphic designer and photographer with Alicia Nierste Designs in Canton.
Jason Brueckner ’09 is the Director of Young Adults Ministry at First Christian Church in Canton. Jason graduated with a bachelor of arts degree majoring in both Youth & Sports Ministry and Bible & Theology and earned a master’s degree from Wheaton College in Biblical Studies majoring in Biblical Exegesis. He is also Manager of Social Engagement at Sanctuary Marketing Group and Editor at “Brave Daily.” Jason is married to Kortney (Sekulich), a 2009 Nursing graduate.
