Sandra Carnes ’75 was honored as a 50-Year Member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Carnes retired from Malone in 2011 after a 41-year teaching career. She was founder and director of the Malone Piano Preparatory Program and directed the spectacular Piano Extravaganza concerts for many years. An active member of MTNA, she served as president of the Ohio Music Teachers Association; East Central Division and a term on the MTNA Board of Directors. In 2005, Carnes was awarded the Malone University Distinguished Service Award.
