Laurel Weir '12, soprano, performed
Vier Letzte Lieder by Strauss with the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory Orchestra on February 9, 2017. Weir received a Master's degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She earned duel Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Communication Arts from Malone where she studied with mezzo-soprano,
Cynthia Wohlschlager. In 2013, she won first-place in the statewide Tuesday Musical Scholarship Competition and presented a recital in Salzburg, Austria as winner of the Schloss Mirabell Competition. In January 2014, she was selected for "The Song Continues," Marilyn Horne's week-long master class series at Carnegie Hall, followed by a performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
