Shaun Eller '10 celebrates 30 years with Ohio Gratings Inc.

Congratulations to Shaun Eller '10, who recently celebrated 30 years at Ohio Gratings, Inc.. Shaun joined the company in 1995, and wasn't viewing the job opportunity as a career, but rather a chance to find meaning in his work. He was hired, even though he lacked the advertised credentials, and started his career as an entry-level drafter. He has worked in a variety of roles and sectors of the company, including being the leader of the OGI plant in Texas for almost a decade, and now works as the Chief Business Officer. Shaun prioritizes a genuine care for his team & clients that is built through trust & performance. Eller says "Your job as a leader is to remove obstacles so your people can shine. Set the example. Listen before judging. Make our standards visible to all".

The faith culture at Ohio Gratings, Inc. is something that is very important to Shaun. The company employs a full-time chaplain to help employees with anything they might need. Shaun is also the President of the Stark County Manufacturing Workforce Development Partnership. This helps schools & career centers around the county build a bridge between regional talent and organizations like Ohio Gratings, Inc.. What started three decades ago has now been built into a career marked by performance and a Christ-like care for those around him. Congratulations to Shaun on this milestone, and we wish you continued success! To read more about Shaun's journey, you can click here and go to page 23.

Joelle (Rex) `10 and Craig Carnes `10

Joelle (Rex) `10 and Craig Carnes `10 Craig and I met at Malone in the Fall of 2005 as freshman members of the Pioneers Marching Band. Yes, we met at BAND CAMP! He was a boy from Cincinnati and I, a girl from Cleveland, from complete opposite ends of the state and here we were meeting in Canton, Ohio. We learned that we had both been at Malone's Scholar's Day event the year before but never saw each other! During our first year at MU we hung out with the same core group of friends all five of us were pretty inseparable. Our time together as a group was spent watching movies or playing games in the Barn, going to Late Night in the cafeteria especially on nugget night, playing ping pong in the lounge of Gurney (PGB) or Froggy's, watching American Idol in dorms, or making trips to Taco Bell. Band and chorale were the major social outlets for both of us and being in such frequent company made it easy to grow fond of each other. We began dating the summer after our freshma...
