Brenda Pavlantos '89

Brenda Lee Pavlantos '89 passed away on June 10, 2026 from complications following spinal surgery in August 2025. She was a proud graduate of Timken High School, Class of 1974. Brenda continued her education by earning her Associate degree from Stark State, her Bachelor's degree in Business from Malone University, and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Brenda was an example to everyone she met of what it truly means to trust Christ completely. As a preteen, she was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, a journey that led to more than 30 major surgeries which drove her love of medicine and understanding the human body. When she was recently asked about the highlights of her life, she spoke about her early surgeries that restored her mobility functions and allowed her to live fully-as a wife, mother, Yiayia, and devoted member of her church and community. She considered that ability to keep moving forward one of her greatest accomplishments.

She leaves behind a village of friends and family that loves her deeply and is endlessly proud of who she was and what she stood for. Brenda is now healed, whole, and running freely in heaven. She is joyfully embracing her new body singing "It Is Well with My Soul."

Our prayers are with Brenda's friends and family during this difficult time; we pray that amidst the grief, Christ would surround them with His love and comfort them with indescribable peace knowing that Brenda is now in the fullness of His glory.

Jennifer (Tubaugh) `94 `01 and Jason Bruce `96

Jennifer (Tubaugh) `94 `01 and Jason Bruce  `96 While we were both originally from Ohio, we grew up on opposite sides of the state. At Malone, Steve Styer, a mutual friend, convinced Jason to call me. He was sure we were a match! I had noticed Jason across the cafeteria multiple times, so I was pretty excited to get that call! Our first date was spent hanging out in The Barn chatting the evening away. We were together from that point on! Whenever Steve saw us together, he would say, "Ahhhh my creation!" We've been married for 27 1/2 years and have a beautiful 17 year old daughter. I'm so thankful that Steve gave Jason that little nudge to get things started.
