Betty (Henry) Brantingham *61

Betty A. (Henry) Brantingham *61, age 86 of Cardington, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Country View of Sunbury.

Betty was a 1957 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School. Betty devoted her life to caring for others, both within her home and throughout her community. She was a member of Alum Creek Friends Church. Betty served as the Activities Director at John Clark Nursing Home in Newport, Rhode Island. She later continued her work in service to others as an administrator for a retirement village in Sarasota, Florida.

Above all, Betty cherished her family. She found her greatest happiness in caring for them, especially her beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking, often bringing loved ones together around the table, and took pleasure in simple drives, appreciating the quiet beauty of time spent with those she loved.

Our prayer are with Betty's family and friends during this difficult time, that the love and peace of Christ would fill their hearts and minds as the grieve this loss--knowing that one day, we will all be united with Betty in the fullness of Christ. You can read the full obituary here

Joelle (Rex) `10 and Craig Carnes `10 Craig and I met at Malone in the Fall of 2005 as freshman members of the Pioneers Marching Band. Yes, we met at BAND CAMP! He was a boy from Cincinnati and I, a girl from Cleveland, from complete opposite ends of the state and here we were meeting in Canton, Ohio. We learned that we had both been at Malone's Scholar's Day event the year before but never saw each other! During our first year at MU we hung out with the same core group of friends all five of us were pretty inseparable. Our time together as a group was spent watching movies or playing games in the Barn, going to Late Night in the cafeteria especially on nugget night, playing ping pong in the lounge of Gurney (PGB) or Froggy's, watching American Idol in dorms, or making trips to Taco Bell. Band and chorale were the major social outlets for both of us and being in such frequent company made it easy to grow fond of each other. We began dating the summer after our freshma...
