John Williams '82

John Williams '82Judy WilliamsJohn Williams ’82, of Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL International, along with his wife Judy, has worked with the people of Ayutla Mixtec,(Guerrero, Mexico) for the past 9 years. On March 18, 2017, the people celebrated the publication of the New Testament in their heart language and the Williams helped to organize the celebration. SIL personnel and various speakers of the language have worked toward this goal since 1960. Audio players of the recording of the New Testament were also distributed. The Ayutla area is one of the most monolingual places in all of Mexico, Mixtec and very little if any Spanish spoken among the people living in the mountains. John and Judy worked together with the Tezoatlan (Oaxaca) Mixtec people for 22 years, and the publication of that New Testament was celebrated in 2008.
